At Ever Bamboo, there are two things we especially LOVE about June!
Father’s Day, and the official start of Summer! 

We are celebrating BOTH with a few surprise flash sales on our website. But more on that later. First let’s take a peek at how the celebration of Father’s Day came to be.

Father's Day is a celebration dedicated to honoring fathers and celebrating fatherhood. The history of Father's Day dates back over a century and has its origins in the United States. Did you know that the first official celebration of Father’s Day took place on June 19th in Spokane, Washington? The mayor of the city proclaimed the day, and events were organized to celebrate and honor Dads! But it wasn’t until 1966 - When President Johnson issued the first presidential Proclamation - designating the third Sunday in June as Father’s Day. Then in 1972, it was signed into law by Nixon which made it a Nationally Recognized Holiday!

Today, Father's Day is widely celebrated on the third Sunday of June in many countries worldwide. It is a time when people express gratitude, love, and appreciation for their fathers or father figures, often through gifts, cards, and spending quality time together. The other thing that excites us about June is the official start of summer! What is not to love about this! School is out. In fact vacations and staycations ramp up to the next level as longer days allow for exciting new adventures and the always beloved backyard BBQ! But perhaps the best part is what the Italians refer to as  “Dolce Far Niente” - or “The sweetness of doing nothing”. Summer is truly a season to cherish. It is a time to step out of the daily norms and into the fun and sunshine that creates memories we will cherish for a lifetime.
